NOURISH: Health and wellbeing
Exploring the role of creativity in our health and wellbeing, including projects working with those most affected by the pandemic.
We invited people to join us online to explore the role of creativity and the arts in shaping how well we are, and how well we feel, particularly in the context of a pandemic. Speakers – from the Culture Collective and beyond – discussed their experiences, questions, learnings and hopes for the journey ahead.
The event was hosted by Lewis Hou, advocate for equitable science, creative and cultural participation.
Speakers included:
- Elidh Brown, project coordinator at Combine to Create
- Kate MacKay, artist with Combine to Create
- Gabrielle Barnby, poet and writer
- Clare Allison, The Blide Trust, Orkney
- Jo Hastie, senior manager Artroom
- Sally Thomson, CEO Grampian Hospitals Art Trust
Speakers and project participants appeared together from Station House Media Unit (Aberdeen), with participants and audience members invited to actively participate in an online streaming of the event. The event was live captioned with online BSL interpretation.
About the winter events series
Culture Collective’s winter 2021 events were designed as a series of starting points to mark the outset of our journey. Together we set out to an unknown destination, collectively learning from one another along the way.
