Occupy! will employ five artists to be embedded in the local community for 12 months. Each artist will work closely with a common-interest group and as their work develops they will follow changing relationships to co-create with other people and groups, individually or as a team. The project is part of Govanhill Baths’ wider Occupy! programme, marking the 20th anniversary of the building’s occupation by local activists. From being threatened with closure in 2001 to opening as a Wellbeing Centre in 2022, our Occupy! artists are working in the spirit of The Baths’ grass roots action.
